Kow Abundant Signs Letter to Columbus City Council

Columbus Letter to City Council

Columbus Letter to City Council Dated June 1st, 2020

The brutal death of George Floyd has been felt by all. As a business owner, I have listened more than I have shared. This is not the time to be silent. That is why we have signed this letter to City Council along with many great Columbus small businesses to say that we stand alongside those peaceful protesters and those who are outraged at what has been going on for far too long.

In what seems like another life, I was a musician, touring the country alongside people of all races, colors, and religions. The people I idolized were Carter Beauford, Victor Wooten, Billy Cobham, and many other people of color. I only saw pure talent and love for those amazing musicians. As a kid, I dreamed to one day stand beside them; I never dreamed that it would be in this way. When you play music, you just close your eyes and you feel the pure expression of joy from that person. Music is beyond color, race, or religion and I have shed tears reflecting on this thought.

I urge Columbus businesses to take notice and to sign this petition and to donate to NAACP LDF as we have and to other great charities and businesses that need your help at this time.

Sincerely,

Ted Bigham
